For this guide I am going to use the Flypool Zcash mining pool and will modify the flypool.bat file. This file will need to be modified with your wallet address as well as any other extra option you wish to enable. A copy of my modified batch file is shown below:
It also ensures that information of transaction is verified by the miners. It means that this digital currency provides selective transparency and privacy of transaction. The payment of Zcash may published publicly on public block chain but the transaction amount, recipient, sender may remain private.
I am currently using 1 MSI 1080ti seahawk x, 2 PNY 1080 ti FE and 2 ASUS 1080 ti Turbo. Definetly recomend the MSI and PNY, The ASUS turbo not too much, dont have backplate and not good for UV OC, If you are going to buy 1080 ti, this article have all the details all all 1080 ti models:
Zcash Mining Guide for Beginners, Zcash has become very popular term and people want to know more about it. This is a Cryptocurrency that generally uses zk-snarks. This anonymous digital currency ensures that all the transaction information is safe and safely encrypted.
just wanted to add: especially the 1060 series is a good candidate for mining with lower power consumation. Even Equihash can be run with like 75 to 84 % power which can result in : 297 Sol/s , 86 watt usage, -> 3.45 sol/w
Below is an example of a batch file that we use on one of our Windows-based mining rigs. Everything is contained in a single line in the .bat file. That single line specifies the program to be run (miner) and a few settings that customize the miner’s activity. Finally, and most importantly, one of Zcash wallet addresses is specified so mined Zcash goes to the right place. Here’s the .bat file that we are currently using to start mining. Scroll to see all of it’s contents if necessary.
I would recommend EWBF miner for Zcash, but Claymore dual mining is just as good. Just in case anyone doesn’t know you can dual mine any coin you want, your not limited to just ETH and Decred or ETH and SIA. Just need to read the “Read Me” Text doc in your miners folder. I made a short explanation video, mind you I am not a top end Content creator… but should help..
I really like using EthOS over simple mining cause you can actually somewhat use LXDE as an operating system. The problem with EthOS is the limited number of mining programs you can run and the limited amount of packages you can install (instead of apt-get you have to use apt-get-ubuntu and about 90% of packages won’t download or install, and if they do you might have broken EthOS.)

Once you have decided to start mining Zcash and have a good idea of what Hardware you want to use the next step is to find the right Software. There are several types of software that work with different hardware configurations including the official Zcash miner.
Earlier today Zcash (ZEC) went live as expected and people are already starting to mine it, some of them probably are still not aware of the slow start with very small block rewards initially. Regardless, with what is available as miners at the moment there are pretty much two places where you would want to go for mining if you still haven’t done so. The first one for CPU mining and CUDA mining is Flypool that uses a modified version of NiceHash’s stratum miner available for download here CPU/CUDA miner for Flypool.
Zcash makes use of the Equihash algorithm – a Proof of Work algorithm that is unique to Zcash for now. It was invented by Alex Biryukov and Dmitry Khovratovich, and makes use of Wagner’s algorithm to provide the PoW that’s required for consensus in the Zcash Blockchain.
Right click on the bat file called “flypool” and hit Edit. The file will open in Notepad. Paste what you’ve copied from the flypool website. I’m going to update my server to “us1” instead of “eu1,” and I’m also going to remove the “—cuda_devices” language at the end. This language is used if you want to designate mining only to certain devices (for example, if you want to game with one GPU and mine with the other two). If you want to mine with all devices, you can delete the —cuda_devices designation.
You then need to change “-u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password” to reflect your own account. Eg, “-u Steve.StevesWorker -p StevesWorkerPassword” Then go to “File => Save as” and save the file as “RunMe.bat” in the same folder as minerd. You are now ready to mine, double click on “RunMe.bat” to start mining. If you want, you can create additional workers with usernames and passwords of your choice here
You can click the Download button for the current driver or choose Download Previous Drivers & Software on the right-hand side. This will allow you to choose an older version that will be a great driver for mining based on your card:
Mining and holding crypto is similar to the old adage of buying low and selling high, except for the fact that most buyers don’t know how to do technical analysis, so they buy and sell at the wrong times. They buy high during parabolic price increases and sell low during what could be normal price corrections on continued upward trends.
Next, you will have to ensure you have the correct virtual memory enabled (minimum 16GB). To do this, search for system in the start menu. Open system and on the left hand side click ‘Advanced System Settings.’ Go under the advanced tab, under performance settings, and advanced again. Then click ‘Change’ under virtual memory. Uncheck the box that states to ‘Automatically manage paging file size for all drives’ and then input a custom size of 16384 (or whatever is the maximum allowable value up to 16GB) into the Initial and Maximum size fields. This will prevent you from having any errors with virtual memory.
Not everyone has the proper knowledge, time and patience to start Zcash mining on their own but still you can go for Zcash mining using your own computer. If you have already decided to mine Zcash, you should know what hardware you need to use. First of all you go for right hardware, then software. There are so many software types available in market that works with various different hardware configurations.
Using this miner is easy but you have to specify the number of cores you have for better performance. You should check your CPU count by opening task manager. The nicehash miner has 2 versions and comes with it. One version is to get paid in BT C and another in Zcash. Now open the nheqminer_zcash” file now you can start mining with CPU and paste the command given below:
I’m not sure about your version of Windows but in mine, Task Manager does not display any info on the status of the graphics card. All I see is the performance of my CPU cores, memory and networking throughput.
Hey Charlie, Well, you should multiply the hashrate and electricity consumption and price tag of each GPU by 6, seeing as the Zodiac contains 6 GPUs. When you identify which exact card the Zodiac is using, you’ll be able to search those details but you’ll still need to account for there being 6 GPUs in the complete unit, so 6 times as much hashrate, cost and power consumption. That’s how you’ll know how soon the unit will pay for itself (at least with the current price and difficulty parameters). $180k per year sounds way too good… Note that I’m assuming… Read more »
All of these calculations can change based on mining difficulty as well as Zcash price fluctuations. Here is a view of what 1 December 2016 to 20 May 2017 Zcash pricing looks like via Poloniex (one of the larger exchanges):

After you have accumulated a certain amount and you wish to withdraw it, click “wallet” and then “cash out”. Verify the amount and wallet address first. Within a few minutes, the amount will be sent to your wallet.
Replace “stratum.zcash.nicehash.com:3357” with your pool’s server. and replace “t1RjQjDbPQ9Syp97DHFyzvgZhcjgLTMwhaq” with your zcash wallet address. Optionally, replace “YourWorkerName”. If you want, you can also replace “x” with your password.
The decentralization is done using the blockchain technology. Blockchain, is a type of a ledger that confirms transactions and lives in a distributed-fashion in the cloud. In other words, a group of computers around the world holds copies of the order books and for any given change in it, all the copies are updated. When a majority of the computers authorize a transaction, the money is securely transferred and added to the next block which will be written.
