I’ve a question, I have a 700W Power supply(non modular) , and currently a gtx 1080 and one gtx 1060 3GB. So the miner shows that I’m using about 200W for this gtx, if I connect one more gtx 1060 3GB and I start the miner, it shows errors like it hasn’t enought power, and the last gpu stops running but the fan go 100%.

This brief guide is focused on how to mine Zcash with Nvidia GPUs with either the Windows or Linux operating system. Zcash (ZEC), which utilizes the Equihash algorithm, has lingered near the top of the charts for Nvidia mining profits. It’s also traded on multiple exchanges making it easy to exchange for other cryptocurrencies.

Both brands of GPU can be good at mining Zcash depending on the model. It will take some research to find what the Cost/Performance/Electricity consumption trade-offs are. Here a list of places to start:

Because of the slow start mining that Zcash has implemented the block reward is still growing, so even with price going down and the total network hashrate going up the overall profit for mining and selling Zcash remains pretty stable and most importantly pretty high compared to other crypto coins at the moment. Because of that it is a wise decision to mine and sell Zcash at the moment until the end of the slow start of mining when the block reward will stabilize at the maximum level of 12.5 ZEC and that should provide a more stable price per coin than at the moment. Mining ZEC coins now and keeping the coins may result in them loosing significant value at least in short term, though in long term it might still be a viable option, so consider what to do carefully.

The price of Ethereum mining machines must be adjusted frequently according to many factors, including ETH/USD exchange rate, the network difficulty, and expected difficulty increase. Refund requests based on price changes cannot be honored.

In my videos, I teach you how to mine Ethereum, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash, ZCash and many more coins. I have many how-tos on mining altcoins like Ethereum, along with guides on setting up wallets for altcoins. I also discuss many cloud mining sites such as Hashflare and Genesis Mining. With Hashflare and Genesis Mining cloud mining services you can start mining Ethereum, Bitcoin and other coins without any equipment of your own. Check out my video playlists and other videos for more information.

While the coins of the “old world” as we all know, were and still are issued by centralized bodies such as banks and governments, and are created as printed bills or banknotes, the process of creating money in the world of crypto is decentralized.

The answer? Difficulty. By automatically adjusting the computational difficulty of solving a block, the Zcash blockchain is able to maintain 2.5-minute intervals. You’ll notice that difficulty closely tracks hashrate, and it, too, has seen exponential growth this year:

Find the place you installed Cuda and navigate to it. To do this it is easiest to download it and drag it into your home folder. To do this press the file cabinet at the top left of the screen. It should open up to the desired folder. You should see icons like Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc. Now just drag your Cuda download here.

Some of the above specialize for AMD GPUs, whereas other are tailored to Nvidia GPUs. However, you’ll find that the Claymore Miner works just fine for both, so the choice is ultimately a matter of preference.

Hello zcasher, I would like to mine zcash for fun (and learn) with my laptop’s CPU. I how could do it? Whats software do you (Windows) Since now I have tried to mine Monero using Claymore’s CryptoNote CPU -where the developer ask for a 2.5% –

After creating an account you’ll need to setup a worker to help keep track of your mining progress, to do this use the link below and add a new worker to your account called worker1 and set the password as x. (or use details as you see fit)

I think I’m ready to start building a rig operating system from a stock OS. I’ll be using lubuntu (my pers fav). MIning rigs make the best home computers I have my smallest rig ( 5 x 1070 Founder edition) in my living room. I hope I get everything running smoothly so I can go ham on packages and running nodes.

If you’re at the phase of building a mining rig, check out our 6 GPU mining rig guide. The 3-part tutorial walks through each and every step to get your up and mining with as little hassle as possible.

Zcash is a fork of Bitcoin protocol, a currency that brings some major privacy improvements to its clients. A unique zero-knowledge proving technology makes it possible to shield some transaction details from prying eyes, like the sender, receiver and transaction amount. The currency has a strong developers and investors team. 10% of all Zcash tokens to ever be mined are allocated for the employees and shareholders, which is a strong stimulus for them to take good care of the network and ensure its further development and propagation.

Yeah pretty good, but since the last month has been a little weird, it basically keeps disconecting form the main pool from time to time (for 3 min to 1 hr in a row once every third day), aside from that it works perfectly. This is just an opinion for Ethereum and Siacoin pools, i cannot say anything about others coins.

Just in time for Christmas a new NiceHash EQM 1.0.4a miner is available with about 10-15% speed boost for owners of Nvidia GPUs mining Zcash (ZEC). Like previous versions of the EQM miner it will only work for selling your hashrate on NiceHash, so not able to mine on another pool with it. The latest speed bump is intended for SM52 and SM61 capable Nvidia GPUs (that means only 9xx and 10xx cards), so no speedups for owners for first gen Maxwell GTX 750 (Ti) unfortunately. Currently only a Windows version is available. We are seeing a nice bump from about 320 H/s with the previous version to a little over 360 H/s on a stock GTX 1070 GPU with the 1.0.4a, overclocking brings even more hashrate.

For now though, just keep the miner running for 30-60 minutes at default settings just to make sure everything is working properly. This will also allow time for your card to find a few shares and for the pool to accept them and tabulate them on your wallet display page. There can be sometimes a 10-15 minute delay from when your shares are first accepted and any statistics to appear on the pool side, so now would be a good time to go grab a cup of coffee.

For this reason, miners started to work in groups, which are called pools. A pool of miners unites the calculation power of a workforce of small miners in order to obtain a significant mining power (aka hash rate), thus increasing the chance of solving a puzzle and getting the reward for it. Each miner in the pool, gets a “share” of the reward, according to the amount of power he contributed to the pool.

You need to take in to consideration the system which requires another 100w. 1080 with 80 percent power and 2 1060 also at 80 percent power should be fine. If it doesn’t work try to reduce power further to 75 percent. I have my 1080s set to 70 percent power.

Zcash uses a different hashing algorithm than Bitcoin’s, making it incompatible with the special hashing hardware (ASICs) developed for Bitcoin mining. Zcash’s algorithm is known as Equihash. It’s a memory-hard algorithm; it’s designed to resist the development of Zcash-mining ASICs. Instead, Equihash is deliberately best suited for GPU mining.

Using this miner is easy but you have to specify the number of cores you have for better performance.  You should check your CPU count by opening task manager.  The nicehash miner has 2 versions and comes with it. One version is to get paid in BT C and another in Zcash. Now open the nheqminer_zcash” file now you can start mining with CPU and paste the command given below:
