The EWBF Zcash Cuda Miner is written primarily for Nvidia cards running under Windows, and in its description the developer indicates that it is: “Written for Pascal GPUs but works on cards with at least 1Gb memory, and Compute Capability 2 and higher.”
There are many risks when it comes to Zcash mining on your NVIDIA Pascal desktop GPU. First, Zcash pricing can be unpredictable. We have seen major drops in value before (depicted above.) One also needs to be able to convert Zcash to standard currency which may incur transaction fees and/ or be difficult.
How much can be earned depending on hash rate? DO you have to use Ubuntu. I have windows 10 and two GPUs on an Aorus X7 Pro which comes with an Nvidia graphics card. I was trying to mine ETH and I found it to be very taxing on my computer and due to the fact I had Windows 10, there was a bottleneck issue where it mines at a slower hash rate than it would if I used Windows 7. Does the same apply to Zcash? Does this sound familiar?
Several months ago, we tried Zcash mining Docker and even published Docker containers for CPU mining. Although we have CUDA enabled Monero mining containers, they performed well, but not significantly better than CPU mining. When we built a new image with Pascal GPUs we found that NVIDIA GPUs can keep up profitability in-line with using AMD GPUs to mine Zcash or Monero.
If all is looking good at this point, congratulations, you have successfully setup the EWBF miner and pointed it to a pool and are earning Zcash. After some time you can go to the Payouts tab to get a rough estimate of your expected income, but the numbers don’t really mean much until at least 24 hours of constant mining have gone by.

ASIC Application-specific Integrated Circuit, an ASIC is the current ‘top of the line’ technology used in Bitcoin mining. It is able to generate orders of magnitude more hashes per watt of power than the next best technology. For greater detail, please see the hardware page.
As you can see our current Hashrate is showing as 506.7 H/s, which is equivalent to the Sol/s reading on the miner. The avergae hashrate is showing as 494.6 and is the effective rate for the past 24 hours. I should point out that this rate is slightly lower than the average mainly as I shut this miner down a few times in the course of writing this guide. The final part are the valid and invalid shares. Obviously you want as near as 100% valid and 0% invalid as possible, but don’t be too concerned if your see 1 0r 2% in the invalid column on occasion.
Zcash also differs because it has a built-in privacy protocol called zk-SNARKS, which is designed to make it the leading privacy-based crypto in the market (competing with other privacy coins such as Dash and Monero).

For a solid budget card, the Nvidia 1060 with 6 GB of RAM is recommended (when in stock and not ridiculously overpriced due to the card shortages we’ve been seeing in summer 2017). This GPU will beat the AMD 480s when it comes to mining Zcash!
It does mine but there is no way to get paid and you need to put your wallet address in some other website,the app crashes and suddenly stops constantly, it needs an update to fix all those software errors,is really bad design it should pay immediately after is done hashing and it should have a place to put your wallet so it sends the coins to the wallet directly and have no issues, very hard to get support, it seems to be working and hashing but just can’t get it to pay or no support, i don’t recommend it seems like a gimmicky lie

That’s right, you can use both! With most cryptos this would be wasteful, but since the Equihash algorithm is “CPU-friendly”, mining with both GPU and CPU is currently profitable. All you need to do is keep both the CPU threads (-t) and the GPU numbers (-og)
I recommend looking into MultipoolMiner or one of the forks from it. It does not have bminer, but it does have more pools and a lot of miners. If a pool gets hacked again, I will lose less because it is distributed across multiple websites.
Yeah pretty good, but since the last month has been a little weird, it basically keeps disconecting form the main pool from time to time (for 3 min to 1 hr in a row once every third day), aside from that it works perfectly. This is just an opinion for Ethereum and Siacoin pools, i cannot say anything about others coins.
Keep in mind that Equihash makes CPU mining still somewhat feasible for Zcash. However, you’ll mostly receive a better RoI with GPU investments, so consider the options above first before exploring your CPU options.
The dstm’s ZCash Nvidia Miner is supposed to be slightly faster than the popular and widely used EWBF’s CUDA Zcash miner that has not been updated for quite some time, so you might want to give the new miner a try. Our initial tests show a bit better hashrate with the same GPU settings as with the EWBF, though the difference is not huge. Do note that dstm’s miner has its own specifics that you need to get used with such as the use of a separate thread for each GPU and getting 6 separate workers on the pool from one mining rig for example. The interface could also use some improvements and some color coding can further help in readability, but in general it is quite Ok even at the moment. Do note that the 64-bit Windows binary is built with Visual Studio 2015, so if you do not have the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 installed you might get an error about a missing DLL.
However, if you have Nvidia cards, or if you’re in the market to buy new cards and can’t find any well-priced AMD cards, then mining Zcash on Nvidia GPUs is still very profitable with the EWBF Miner, which is highly optimized to get the maximum performance out of Nvidia’s Cuda cores.
There is a new miner for Nvidia CUDA GPUs available for mining Zcash (ZEC) promising a slightly faster hashrate than the currently fastest implementation of the NiceHash EQM Zcash NVIDIA miner. The most important thing about this new miner is that it is not limited to only mining on NiceHash, so even with the same speed it is still a nice thing to have as it supports Stratum mining on other mining pools besides NiceHash (it does seem to support NiceHash’s Extranonce Subscribe as well). According to the author of the miner it is designed for Nvidia Pascal GPUs, but should work on older Compute 3.0 or higher Nvidia GPUs with at least 1 GB of video memory. Do note that the miner is not open source and there is only a Windows 64-bit binary release available at the moment, it does not seem to be based on other popular codebase and is not being reported as malicious software by antivirus products. You might still want to have something in mind as the user that posted it on Bitcointalk is a new account and not an established miner developer, even though it seems that the miner does work pretty well.
The other software I will be using in this guide and recommend is MSI’s Afterburner, which the latest version can be found on the MSI site here. The version of Afterburner I used for the guide is 18.104.22.16867.
Linux users can also use the Optiminer/Equihash miner as a solution for mining different variations of the Equihash algorithm (Equihash 200/9, Equihash 192/7, Equihash 96/5). A Windows version is supposed to come out at some point, but it is still not available for the moment.
just wanted to add: especially the 1060 series is a good candidate for mining with lower power consumation. Even Equihash can be run with like 75 to 84 % power which can result in : 297 Sol/s , 86 watt usage, -> 3.45 sol/w

Currently the NiceHash EQM Zcash miner is the fastest ZEC miner out there for Nvidia GPUs with the latest release bringing up to almost 50% increase in performance for most Nvidia GPUs. Everything would have been perfect if you could use the miner for other Zcash pools, but the EQM miner is still only supporting the NiceHash service, so you cannot mine ZEC with it, just sell your Zcash hashrate and get paid for it in Bitcoin. The recently released EWBF CUDA Zcash Miner is probably the fastest ZEC miner for Nvidia GPUs that is available for Windows that you can use on other pools for mining Zcash directly, though it is slower than the latest EQM miner release and that one also comes with 2% dev fee (no fee on the NiceHash miner, but only locked to their service).
