For perspective, I run several of the Gigabyte “ITX” one-fan GTX 1070 model cards on Folding@Home – which pushes a card quite a bit harder than ZCash mining does – and they stay plenty cool as long as the ambient temperature doesn’t get very high.
Choose and download an appropriate mining program that supports, a: your desired coin (Zcash), b: your GPU (GTX 1080), c: your operating system (Windows 10), and sometimes d: your pool (rarely but does occasionally happen).
Zcash offers total payment confidentiality, while still maintaining a decentralized network using a public blockchain. Unlike Bitcoin, Zcash’s private transactions hide the sender, recipient, and value of transactions on the blockchain. Only those with the correct view key can see the contents. Users have complete control and can opt-in to provide others with their view key at their discretion.
Dear Steven, I read that article. But there is a problem me. My graphic card is not related to the article. AMD or other. Therefore when I run the batch file. The error occurred. Error say. GPU card not found. Can i change the configuration data for my GVA (Intel Graphic)

AsicMiner Market team has been building and selling mining rigs, creating custom firmware for ASIC miners (padrino Jupiter firmware, padrino Titan firmware), and consulting on large GPU and ASIC deployments since 2011, when Bitcoin was just starting to gain popularity. We will be around for the future and are happy to help with projects of any size.
Well you need to do your own due diligence, but if you click on the link originating from the Bitcointalk EWBF support thread you should be taken to the authors downloads, which many users have reported as safe.
Zcash mining is very simple and it is good news for beginners now they need not to download full Zcash block chain. They need not to manage clunky command line miners with manual instructions. If you are a beginner you can go for Zcash mining directly.
Claymore has updated his ZCash AMD GPU miner to version 12.5 adding support for the ZCash forks (altcoins using the same Equihash algorithm) as well as doing some more improvements to the miner. The latest version comes with improved fans management for latest drivers and Polaris cards, added shares-per-GPU statistics when “s” key is pressed, addend an option to use a password for remote monitoring as well as included EthMan v3.0 which supports passwords and email notifications. This is currently the preferred solution by most miners mining ZEC or other coins based on the Equihash algorithm for AMD OpenCL GPU mining rigs, the miner does not yet have support for Nvidia GPUs. Nvidia miners can go for some of the available options for CUDA mining such as the nheqminer, excavator or EWBF’s CUDA Zcash miner for mining coins using the Equihash algorithm on their hardware.
Hi.. Need some help.. I have [HP Pavilion Notebook 15-ab055tx](https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c04 731184) with NVIDIA GeForce 940M (2 GB DDR3L dedicated) Graphics…Do you think it’s possible mining Zcash In this laptop..
ZCash is an anonymous cryptocurrency that uses zk-snarks to ensure that all the information regarding user transactions is safely encrypted, while still verifiable by miners that can ensure no double-spending has taken place using zero knowledge proofs.
In the example above we’re mining on USA stratum pool. We have a quad-core CPU with hyper-threading (8 threads available) and only one NVIDIA GPU in the computer. We are mining with 6 threads on the CPU and on the whole NVIDIA GPU.
I think I’m ready to start building a rig operating system from a stock OS. I’ll be using lubuntu (my pers fav). MIning rigs make the best home computers I have my smallest rig ( 5 x 1070 Founder edition) in my living room. I hope I get everything running smoothly so I can go ham on packages and running nodes.
Starting with Genesis Mining who have once more upgraded the Zcash cloud mining hashrate for their existing customers by another 25%. This means that everyone that has already purchased Zcash cloud mining hashrate from them got a nice boost in performance and amount of mined ZEC for free. Furthermore, new customers purchasing Zcash cloud mining hashrate will also get a boost in the hashrate they purchase, however the mining for new contracts purchased at the moment will start on December 1st and not immediately, so pretty much after the slow start for the mining ends.
On October 28, 2016, the launch of Zcash made ZEC coins available for mining. Since Zcash is an open source, decentralized cryptocurrency, we believe that mining for ZEC is an important way to help strengthen and decentralize the Zcash community, contribute to computer science, and win our gratitude and a prize. Mining should be available to everyone, regardless of their access to specialized hardware; anyone should be able to use a computer to “mine” by using open source software, and add more transactions to the Zcash ledger to possibly get Zcash coins in return for their effort. By distributing the ability to perform mining with open source software, the Zcash network can be a more accessible and a truly community-supported cryptocurrency.
As you can see, factory overclocked cards to help add slightly more performance in Zcash mining. A direct result of improved hash rate is higher earnings per day. Note, this analysis was done on 20 May 2017 and it will have changed in the 48 hours until it was published, but these are good general guidelines:
Cold Storage This is the process of moving your bitcoins to an offline wallet. The benefit of this is that no one can hack into your computer and steal your private keys if your computer is not connected to a network. Bitcoins will need to be brought back out of cold storage to be spent or transferred again.
You will also need a Zcash wallet address either from a Zcash wallet you installed and run on your own PC, or a Zcash “Deposit” address from an exchange. I would recommend learning how to install run your own wallet unless you are only going to mine with a few cards and plan to exchange the coins right away. Several of the large exchanges support Zcash so you can obtain a wallet address from one such as Kraken, Poloniex, or Bittrex to name just a few.

From a security minded engineer: How can I trust someone sharing Windows executable via Google Drive and using WinRar? The guide is nice but it raises lots of security concerns. There’s no auditable open source code and stamp by security experts. Not long ago we had WannaCry spreading in the wild.
* The nheqminer is available with hardcoded pools from nicehash, suprnova and other mining pools supporting Zcash, so make sure you download the correct version for the pool you are going to be mining at.
The whole process of getting set up, downloading your miner, configuring Windows, and setting up your batch file to run should take less than 20 minutes. Follow along with the steps in the video guide below, or read on for a full text guide.
When it comes to mining ZCash (ZEC) or other Equihash-based crypto coins on Nvidia GPUs for most people it is time for the EWBF ZCash CUDA miner, however it seems that the development of that miner has been abandoned a while ago. There have been a few alternatives available that we have covered with dstm’s ZCash Cuda Miner being a very promising successor. The problem with it was that there were a few key features that were missing up until recently, but that is no longer the case with this miner. So if you were reluctant to give it a try, now you might want to reconsider and test it on your Nvidia mining hardware.
The biggest limitation of the official Zcash software is that it only takes advantage of your CPU to mine. If you have decided to build a dedicated GPU rig for mining the basic software will not be enough, you will need to decide on software that has been optimized to take advantage of your GPU’s.

Just in time for Christmas a new NiceHash EQM 1.0.4a miner is available with about 10-15% speed boost for owners of Nvidia GPUs mining Zcash (ZEC). Like previous versions of the EQM miner it will only work for selling your on NiceHash, so not able to mine on another pool with it. The latest speed bump is intended for SM52 and SM61 capable Nvidia GPUs (that means only 9xx and 10xx cards), so no speedups for owners for first gen Maxwell GTX 750 (Ti) unfortunately. Currently only a Windows version is available. We are seeing a nice bump from about 320 H/s with the previous version to a little over 360 H/s on a stock GTX 1070 GPU with the 1.0.4a, overclocking brings even more hashrate.
So get mining, folks! And for the less knowledgable I can warmly recommend cloud mining. But make sure you choose a reputable one that has been around a while. I just chose Genesis Mining based on research and they got good discounts every now and then, like right now there is a coupon code you can grab: 809fKo
For now though, just keep the miner running for 30-60 minutes at default settings just to make sure everything is working properly. This will also allow time for your card to find a few shares and for the pool to accept them and tabulate them on your wallet display page. There can be sometimes a 10-15 minute delay from when your shares are first accepted and any statistics to appear on the pool side, so now would be a good time to go grab a cup of coffee.
