I have a lowly GTX 1060 and only started mining with it two days ago. I used ewbf first because it was listed first on miningpoolhub. After playing with it some, it would peak for me about 291 h/s. The average was closer to 288. I could push it to 300, but only by risking arrest for GPU abuse. I switched to dstm last night and am averaging 314 h/s. Even with the fee, I’m better off. Your mileage may vary.

I recommend looking into MultipoolMiner or one of the forks from it. It does not have bminer, but it does have more pools and a lot of miners. If a pool gets hacked again, I will lose less because it is distributed across multiple websites.
The EWBF CUDA Zcash Miner has a built-in developer fee that is set at 2%, meaning that every 10 minutes the software will switch to a different pool and mine for the developer some shares and then get back to mining for you. The author of the software claims speeds of about 250 H/s for Nvidia GTX 1070 while the NiceHash EQM miner does currently about 220 H/s on the same GPU. Our quick tests showed a hashrate of about 235-240 H/s average (up to 250 H/s) on stock GTX 1070, so still slightly faster, but not as much as you may want it to… then there is the dev fee as well and it seems that we are seeing somewhat more rejects than, especially when switching to mine for the dev fee. So while this may be an interesting alternative for users willing to mine outside of NiceHash, the actual performance that you may get poolside may not be much different than with what is currently the fastest implementation from NiceHash (taking into account the dev fee and the rejected shares)…

One thing I will mention is that mining software is often flagged from antivirus vendors as containing malware even though they don’t. The reasons for the many false positives is that a lot of malware does contain these mining programs since botnet operators can secretly install mining software on unsuspecting user’s PCs and point to an address they (the botnet operator) controls. As a result, many of the antivirus vendors simply mark anything with a mining program as suspect. This is because even though mining is becoming more popular, it is still probably done by less than 1% of all computer users who would use antivirus scans, so to the antivirus vendors this means 99% of their target audience who has a miner program probably didn’t put it there themselves. They play it safe and just mark it as or PuP (potentially unwanted program) as they figure if you are a miner you know its there and probably have the technical ability to work around it.
just wanted to add: especially the 1060 series is a good candidate for mining with lower power consumation. Even Equihash can be run with like 75 to 84 % power which can result in : 297 Sol/s , 86 watt usage, -> 3.45 sol/w
It is advisable to put the fan regularly on a certain percentage so that the heat of the card is about 60 degrees (note that during the day the house is warmer and the temperature will rise accordingly).

Just in time for Christmas a new NiceHash EQM 1.0.4a miner is available with about 10-15% speed boost for owners of Nvidia GPUs mining Zcash (ZEC). Like previous versions of the EQM miner it will only work for selling your hashrate on NiceHash, so not able to mine on another pool with it. The latest speed bump is intended for SM52 and SM61 capable Nvidia GPUs (that means only 9xx and 10xx cards), so no speedups for owners for first gen Maxwell GTX 750 (Ti) unfortunately. Currently only a Windows version is available. We are seeing a nice bump from about 320 H/s with the previous version to a little over 360 H/s on a stock GTX 1070 GPU with the 1.0.4a, overclocking brings even more hashrate.
On the GPU side, we are going to use the Claymore miner. Claymore has a long-standing reputation for optimizing miners and this miner speaks for it. It improves the hashing rate considerably and that is why we are going to take the time to download and use this miner as well. The genoil miner only works for pool mining and with AMD graphic cards. This miner charges a 2.5% developer fee. Every hour the miner mines for the developer during 90 seconds. However, the performance increase is well worth the fee charged. If you don’t agree with the dev feem, don’t use this miner
It does mine but there is no way to get paid and you need to put your wallet address in some other website,the app crashes and suddenly stops constantly, it needs an update to fix all those software errors,is really bad design it should pay immediately after is done hashing and it should have a place to put your wallet so it sends the coins to the wallet directly and have no issues, very hard to get support, it seems to be working and hashing but just can’t get it to pay or no support, i don’t recommend it seems like a gimmicky lie
In this post I’ll break down the various steps required to mine the eagerly anticipated Zcash which is due to be released on the 28/10/16. In advance of the launch day we can prepare our machines to be ready right from the very start.
Zcash also differs because it has a built-in privacy protocol called zk-SNARKS, which is designed to make it the leading privacy-based crypto in the market (competing with other privacy coins such as Dash and Monero).
Replace “eu” for your mining pool address found on the pool “Get Started” page, “ZEC-ADDRESS” for your zcash wallet address (transparent address) and lastly replace “-t 8” for the number of threads you want to use. (If you’re using the Nicehash pool, you can use -l to specify your location like “eu” for Europe)
Covering these steps more in detail, to get started mining Zcash with EWBF you will need a Windows based PC (or mining rig) and a late generation Nvidia GPU, preferably a GTX10xx series such as the GTX 1080 that I will be using.
6. It is recommended that you install applications such as MSI Afterburner in order to control the card’s fan. In its default mode, the power is low and it allows the card to reach a temperature of 70-80 degrees Celcius (normal when playing occasionally but not healthy when it comes to a machine running 24-hours a day).
After letting your newly setup miner run for about 20-30 minutes, you can check the pool to confirm you shares are being counted and see some pool-side statistic of your mining progress. On the top right of the Flypool Zcash homepage (shown above) you can enter your Zcash wallet address and click on Check Status to get to your own wallet personal statistics page.
If you are mining where power is expensive (e.g. Northern California), then that will significantly hit profits. What this does not take into account is that if you are doing this in a home or office where you also need to pay peak pricing and air conditioning costs, the profitability can be much lower. On the other hand, if you are in a data center then you can easily plan for power and cooling costs.

After a little bit you shoudl start seeing shares accepted messages indicating your GPU has found a solution, submitted it the the pool and it was accepted.
