dstm’s ZCash Cuda miner version 0.6 adds failover pool support, one of the features that we wanted to see the most to make this a really good alternative. It is not failover pool support only however, the latest version introduces support for configuration files as well and an option to control mining intensity for the GPUs. There are also a number of other new features added as well as improvements that might be useful for some people, but we can already say that dstm’s ZCash Cuda miner is now the better miner when compared with EWBF ZCash CUDA miner, so if you are still using EWBF’s software you might want to give dstm’s one a go. Do note that dstm’s ZCash Cuda miner should be faster performing in terms of hashrate with the same settings, also there is a 2% developer fee included with this closed source miner.

It’s their name for 6x 1080 GPUs in a re-assembled rig… So sure, it’ll be good for mining zCash, as that’s its intended purpose after all and the 1080 GPU is a good miner. That said, electricity in SA has become pretty expensive and Bitmart’s prices are fairly steep. For AMD mining you might want to head on to the Coinsforall mining pool that uses its own different protocol and has an OpenCL and CUDA miner. Earlier today Genoil has posted an OpenCL miner binary for Windows with stratum support, however it seems that his miner is still not ready for major use as most people are reporting issues making it work properly. We have tried his miner and also had trouble making it work properly, so if you have AMD OpenCL GPUs just go for Coinsforall for the moment and use their miner.

Several months ago, we tried Zcash mining in Docker and even published Docker containers for CPU mining. Although we have CUDA enabled Monero mining containers, they performed well, but not significantly better than CPU mining. When we built a new image with Pascal GPUs we found that NVIDIA GPUs can keep up profitability in-line with using AMD GPUs to mine Zcash or Monero.

Well you need to do your own due diligence, but if you click on the link originating from the Bitcointalk EWBF support thread you should be taken to the authors downloads, which many users have reported as safe.

You then need to change “-u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password” to reflect your own account. Eg, “-u Steve.StevesWorker -p StevesWorkerPassword” Then go to “File => Save as” and save the file as in the same folder as minerd. Here is a quick list of the latest CPU and GPU miners available for mining the Zcash (ZEC) that uses the Equihash algorithm used by the coin. Since most pools and miners are based on Stratum mining support you should be able to use them on almost all mining pools with support for ZEC. What you should be looking for is what works best on your hardware in terms of stability and what provides you with the optimal hashrate in order for you to maximize your profit. CPU mining is still viable as GPU miners are yet to be further optimized to be able to provide significantly higher hashrates, though you should know that the days of the CPU mining of ZEC are probably numbered.

Zcash uses a different hashing algorithm than Bitcoin’s, making it incompatible with the special hashing hardware (ASICs) developed for Bitcoin mining. Zcash’s algorithm is known as Equihash.   1. If all is looking good at this point, congratulations, you have successfully setup the EWBF miner and pointed it to a pool and are earning Zcash. After some time you can go to the Payouts tab to get a rough estimate of your expected income, but the numbers don’t really mean much until at least 24 hours of constant mining have gone by.
    Replace “eu” for your location, “ZEC-ADDRESS” for your zcash wallet address (transparent address), replace “-t 8” for the number of threads you want to use, and lastly replace “-og 0” for the number of GPUs you’re using (as in -og 0 1 2 if you’re using 3 GPUs)
    Install your GPU drivers as you normally would and reboot. You’ll know your GPU has been recognized correctly if you go to Device Manager (search it in Windows search bar) and you don’t see any warning marks on your GPUs. They should look like this:
