Experimentation with various GPU selections in the calculator will reveal a card with the best price-to-performance-to-power consumption combination (expressed as MH/s per currency unit). Keep in mind that AMD cards outperform Nvidia cards for Ethereum mining purposes on the EthashAlgo, but AMD doesn’t beat Nvidia when it comes to the Equihash algorithm using the EWBF Miner.

The only drawback is that the miner currently only supports connection to NiceHash, so you cannot use it with other pools. However, if you have Nvidia cards, or if you’re in the market to buy new cards and can’t find any well-priced AMD cards, then mining Zcash on Nvidia GPUs is still very profitable with the EWBF Miner, which is highly optimized to get the maximum performance out of Nvidia’s Cuda cores.

Dear Steven, I read that article. But there is a problem me. My graphic card is not related to the article. AMD or other. Therefore when I run the batch file. The error occurred. Error say. GPU card not found. Can i change the configuration data for my GVA (Intel Graphic)
so it’s latency dependent. I’m not sure how much time u have. If u have some, I would compile some versions that should show where the bottleneck is. Also could u pls check the cpu usage. If u have some time for all this stuff ofc.
I briefly mentioned it while reviewing the EVGA GTX1080 card, but I thought I would take some time to go over EWBF’s Zcash Cuda Miner in more detail and help anyone unfamiliar with the program or mining in general to get setup and running quickly with it under Windows.
AMD GPU miners were recently getting quite the boost thanks to Claymoreâs Zcash miner on Windows, but now Windows users with Nvidia GPUs also got a nice boost in ZEC mining performance thanks to the release of the NiceHash EQM Zcash Nvidia Optimized Miner. It kind of doubles the performance that people were getting with the previous nheqminer from Nicehash, so now with a 6x GTX 1070 GPUs for example you can be all the way up to about 400 H/s. Do note that the miner currently supports only newer Nvidia GPUs and will apparently not work on anything lower than SM 5.0 capable GPUs â Maxwell or Pascal.

If all is looking good at this point, congratulations, you have successfully setup the EWBF miner and pointed it to a pool and are earning Zcash. After some time you can go to the Payouts tab to get a rough estimate of your expected income, but the numbers don’t really mean much until at least 24 hours of constant mining have gone by.

Zcash uses a different hashing algorithm than Bitcoin’s, making it incompatible with the special hashing hardware (ASICs) developed for Bitcoin mining. Zcash’s algorithm is known as Equihash. It’s a memory-hard algorithm; it’s designed to resist the development of Zcash-mining ASICs. Instead, Equihash is deliberately best suited for GPU mining.

Digital currencies are mine to a transparent address but it can be spent to shielded address or Z-address. This currency should be swept out of the transparent address in one transaction without any changes. You should use the Z-sendmany command to send currencies from a transparent address to shielded address. You need 4GB RAM for this process.
You then need to change “-u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password” to reflect your own account. Eg, “-u Steve.StevesWorker -p StevesWorkerPassword” Then go to “File => Save as” and save the file as “RunMe.bat” in the same folder as minerd. You are now ready to mine, double click on “RunMe.bat” to start mining. If you want, you can create additional workers with usernames and passwords of your choice here
Could u please run another test. Set your cpu-governor to performance mode this time. The miner is highly multithreaded. Since it scales so bad compared to a 1070 – it could be due to scheduling latencies. So if u have some time pls test with cpu-scaling governor set to performance.
Configure the mining software (usually via batch file) to point to your desired pool and mine to your wallet address, as well as any GPU specific options you may need (or want) to enable (if supported).
Go in to your extracted Zcash file and find the ‘start.sh’ file. If it doesn’t have one make one. Select it, right click on it and click ‘Edit’. Once you are here you will need to delete the contents in it and paste this with your addresses and press save.
After you have accumulated a certain amount and you wish to withdraw it, click “wallet” and then “cash out”. Verify the amount and wallet address first. Within a few minutes, the amount will be sent to your wallet.
In this post I’ll break down the various steps required to mine the eagerly anticipated Zcash which is due to be released on the 28/10/16. In advance of the launch day we can prepare our machines to be ready right from the very start.
Here you can see the miner.exe which is the main program, a couple of support dll’s (Dynamic Link Libraries), a help.txt file with some basic command overviews, as well as several .bat (Windows batch) files with example configurations for several mining pools that support Zcash.

Mining This is the process by which new blocks are created and all Bitcoin transactions are verified. Mining is actually a poor name for the process taking place, but caught on due to the hope of completing a block and winning the attached Bitcoin reward.
As solving these mathematical puzzles had become difficult, mining pools are being used. A mining pool is a joint effort between miners, so that even a miner with a relatively small amount of processing power can enjoy the reward, without having to solve the whole mathematical puzzle by himself, as it requires a lot of computing power (Hash rate). In the early days of Bitcoin, it was possible to mine Bitcoin with a standard processor of a personal computer (CPU mining). Afterwards, as the network grew bigger, the difficulty of solving these puzzles grew too, and it was no longer possible to mine using a CPU. For this reason, people shifted to using powerful “gamers” graphics card processes (GPU mining), as design solves those puzzles much faster than a CPU. The next step was to shift over to ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits which are basically dedicated machines built for the sole purpose of mining). Today, Bitcoin’s network is so heavy, that nobody can mine Bitcoin by themselves. As an individual miner’s power is relatively small, he will probably not be able to solve any puzzle before other more powerful miners do and new puzzles are issued, resulting in wasted work which practically gives zero income (in theory, an individual can solve a puzzle by themselves, but with Bitcoin the chances of success are smaller than winning the lottery).
If you want to dual-boot and not just clean install you will need this step. Right click on the windows start menu, on the bottom left and select ‘Disk Management’. Select your main HDD or SSD that you want to dual boot from, right click on it and press ‘Shrink’. I suggest using at least 32gb just to be safe.
Not everyone has access to a computer, however, and not everyone has the time, knowledge or patience to start mining Zcash on their own, especially since there is no Graphic User Interface (GUI) Miner available yet. If you want to mine on your own computer, but need a little push to do so, you’re in the right place. But if you’re looking to profit from Zcash mining with no effort at all, this guide will do the trick.
I will go through start to finish on how to set up a Zcash miner on Ubuntu. This is because if you are mining with an Nvidia Graphics card the windows drivers are a little wonky so you will be limiting your hashrate. For me I have 2 GTX 980ti’s in my gaming computer. When I mine Ethereum on windows I get around 5 Mh/s and when I mine on Ubuntu I get 40 Mh/s. For those of you with gaming computers this can be a nice passive source of income while you aren’t playing games. Also AMD GPUs tend to be better at mining Ethereum, but Nvidia GPUs are better at mining Zcash. So if you have an Nvidia GPU I would suggest to mine Zcash. I do. If you have AMD GPU’s I would suggest looking at this guide here.
Difficulty this is the measure of how hard it is to generate a new block in the blockchain. The difficulty is designed to adjust every 2,016 blocks (roughly 2 weeks) to balance out the rate at which blocks are created. The difficulty has an absolute minimum of 1, but not such limit exists for the maximum.
