The whole Zcash mining process includes set up, miner downloading, configuring windows and batch file setting to run and much more. Zcash generally uses equilhash as a hashing algorithm. This is an asymmetric memory hard PoW algo. This is based on the generalize puzzle. It relies on high Random Access Memory needs to bottleneck the generation of proofs and ASIC development unfeasible.
Keep in mind that many of the pools above support several other cryptocurrencies. Also, considering that the field is very active, there might be other pools that have emerged since the time of writing.
I don’t fully understand your question. Only the machine running the zcash4win program will do that actual mining, using its system resources. However, you can have a Zcash wallet on any machine and the mining rewards can be sent to that wallet. So you can have one machine doing the work of mining and any other machine to receive the Zcash which is mined. Hope that helps.
Similar to the Claymore miner (which does not currently support Zcash mining under Windows), the EWBF miner contains a 2% developer fee which can be turned off in the batch file. It is noted in the thread that disabling the fee will slightly reduce hashing power, similar to that same behavior with Claymore’s miner.

The dstm’s ZCash Nvidia Miner is supposed to be slightly faster than the popular and widely used EWBF’s CUDA Zcash miner that has not been updated for quite some time, so you might want to give the new miner a try. Our initial tests show a bit better hashrate with the same GPU settings as with the EWBF, though the difference is not huge. Do note that dstm’s miner has its own specifics that you need to get used with such as the use of a separate thread for each GPU and getting 6 separate workers on the pool from one mining rig for example. The interface could also use some improvements and some color coding can further help in readability, but in general it is quite Ok even at the moment. Do note that the 64-bit Windows binary is built with Visual Studio 2015, so if you do not have the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 installed you might get an error about a missing DLL.

Yeah pretty good, but since the last month has been a little weird, it basically keeps disconecting form the main pool from time to time (for 3 min to 1 hr in a row once every third day), aside from that it works perfectly. This is just an opinion for Ethereum and Siacoin pools, i cannot say anything about others coins.
I think I’m ready to start a rig operating system from a stock OS. I’ll be using lubuntu (my pers fav). MIning rigs make the best home computers I have my smallest rig ( 5 x 1070 Founder edition) in my living room. I hope I get everything running smoothly so I can go ham on packages and running nodes.
We all love getting consistent feedback for our work. After all, there’s nothing more frustrating than mining into the void. That’s why mining pools are so popular for miners nowadays. Instead of waiting to receive rewards on your own (which takes very long because of how unlikely it is), just join a pool to receive a fair proportion in the worth of your hash contribution to the network. Mining pools break up the rewards proportionally between all participants, which is why it’s the preferred way to mine for most lower-hash miners.
One thing I will mention is that mining software is often flagged from antivirus vendors as containing malware even though they don’t. The reasons for the many false positives is that a lot of malware does contain these mining programs since botnet operators can secretly install mining software on unsuspecting user’s PCs and point to an address they (the botnet operator) controls. As a result, many of the antivirus vendors simply mark anything with a mining program as suspect. This is because even though mining is becoming more popular, it is still probably done by less than 1% of all computer users who would use antivirus scans, so to the antivirus vendors this means 99% of their target audience who has a miner program probably didn’t put it there themselves. They play it safe and just mark it as malware or PuP (potentially unwanted program) as they figure if you are a miner you know its there and probably have the technical ability to work around it.
I think the Nvidia bottle neck applies to anything you mine on Windows. It has to do with the recent Nvidia drivers. That’s why I suggest ubuntu. Now I’m not for sure on Windows 7 because I only use Windows 10 and Ubuntu. If you find something out let me know!
Now with all that said, it also does not mean that a mining program cannot contain a virus, or that it isn’t a virus itself, so don’t just blindly trust it either. It is just that there is a valid reason for a high rate of false positives when it comes to such software. Just as a general rule, I would not load any mining software on a machine that contains a cryptocurrency wallet, or one that you do any type of financial work on. It is best to play it safe and keep your mining rigs separate from your important information, so a separate machine is best that is dedicated to mining if possible.
Notice I only have one GPU running. If you have multiple GPUs they all should be displayed as separate line entries starting with 0. At the top we can verify the mining program and version, the server, solver we are using (in this case the default or auto selected), devices configured for mining (more for multiple GPU systems, in our example just one even though it says all), max temperature limit of 90 degrees C (default setting) after which point the mining software will shutdown to prevent GPU damage, and information on if the optional API is enabled or disabled, as in our case.
Besides the ability to rent and lease hashrate for the new Equihash mining algorithm being used by Zcash (ZEC) NiceHash is also offering what they call Fast Zcash Cloud Mining Contracts. These are 24 hour mining contracts, but with a large amount of hashrate that you are getting for this short period of time. Still a nice alternative to have to long term contracts as well as to traditional renting of hashrate where the price may vary and here you have a fixed price for the day.

Could someone help me out here. I’ve got a R280X that should run around 290 h/s on equihash. I runs great guns on Cryptonite 485 h/s but when I start Claymore Zen64 miner it starts out at 275 h/s and then starts to throttle back to 150 h/s. It drops my clock speed in half and I have no control over setting thru MSI afterburner. It mines along but at half the speed 500mhz.
We’ve been using Nanopool for our ETH mining rigs for over 4 months, and it works just fine. Dashboard is very clear and makes it easy for newbies like us to setup. Payments are released once or twice a day when every time we reach our ETH threshold. So far, no caomplaints whatsoever. Plus, they send you email notifications every time a rig stops mining for any reason.

Here is a quick list of the latest CPU and GPU miners available for mining the Zcash (ZEC) that uses the Equihash algorithm used by the coin. Since most pools and miners are based on Stratum mining support you should be able to use them on almost all mining pools with support for ZEC. What you should be looking for is what works best on your hardware in terms of stability and what provides you with the optimal hashrate in order for you to maximize your profit. CPU mining is still viable as GPU miners are yet to be further optimized to be able to provide significantly higher hashrates, though you should know that the days of the CPU mining of ZEC are probably numbered.
