We’ve been using Nanopool for our ETH mining rigs for over 4 months, and it works just fine. Dashboard is very clear and makes it easy for newbies like us to setup. Payments are released once or twice a day when every time we reach our ETH threshold. So far, no caomplaints whatsoever. Plus, they send you email notifications every time a rig stops mining for any reason.
Advantages: It does seem to be a bit less stressful on hardware — power usage is a bit lower. You can watch YouTube HD videos without chopping while Bminer works, and it will dial down hash rate to accommodate this. DSTM and EBWF usually make watching videos or working on spreadsheets uncomfortable to impossible.

Could someone help me out here. I’ve got a R280X that should run around 290 h/s on equihash. I runs great guns on Cryptonite 485 h/s but when I start Claymore Zen64 miner it starts out at 275 h/s and then starts to throttle back to 150 h/s. It drops my clock speed in half and I have no control over setting thru MSI afterburner. It mines along but at half the speed 500mhz.

For AMD mining you might want to head on to the Coinsforall mining pool that uses its own different protocol and has an OpenCL and CUDA miner. Earlier today Genoil has posted an OpenCL miner binary for Windows with stratum support, however it seems that his miner is still not ready for major use as most people are reporting issues making it work properly. We have tried his miner and also had trouble making it work properly, so if you have AMD OpenCL GPUs just go for Coinsforall for the moment and use their miner.
Incentivizing the creation of open source miners will enable a wider community to mine for Zcash coins and take ownership of the network as a public good. While we expect a full range in size of Zcash miners to exist, the more individuals who run a miner (whether GPU or CPU) the stronger the network.
One thing I will mention is that mining software is often flagged from antivirus vendors as containing malware even though they don’t. The reasons for the many false positives is that a lot of malware does contain these programs since botnet operators can secretly install mining software on unsuspecting user’s PCs and point to an address they (the botnet operator) controls. As a result, many of the antivirus vendors simply mark anything with a mining program as suspect. This is because even though mining is becoming more popular, it is still probably done by less than 1% of all computer users who would use antivirus scans, so to the antivirus vendors this means 99% of their target audience who has a miner program probably didn’t put it there themselves. They play it safe and just mark it as malware or PuP (potentially unwanted program) as they figure if you are a miner you know its there and probably have the technical ability to work around it.
I think I will end this guide at this point for now as it is getting to be quite long. While I originally intended to cover fine tuning and going over other optional arguments that the EWBF miner can use, I think I will wait and make this a two part guide. For now this Part 1 covers the basic setup and configuration of getting the EWBF miner running and shares being submitted to a pool. Since it will usually take some time before reaching a pools minimal payout period anyway, especially for just one or two cards, we have some time.
I’ve a question, I have a 700W Power supply(non modular) , and currently a gtx 1080 and one gtx 1060 3GB. So the miner shows that I’m using about 200W for this gtx, if I connect one more gtx 1060 3GB and I start the miner, it shows errors like it hasn’t enought power, and the last gpu stops running but the fan go 100%.
Configure the mining software (usually via batch file) to point to your desired pool and mine to your wallet address, as well as any GPU specific options you may need (or want) to enable (if supported).
Once on your wallet statistic page (if it is blank or your get an error be aware that it may take several minutes to generate if your are newly mining to the pool) you should now be able to confirm your shares are being correctly received and accounted for. I have five miners pointed at this particular address right now, including the EWBF running on a single GTX 1080, which is shown below as the first entry.
However, if you have Nvidia cards, or if you’re in the market to buy new cards and can’t find any well-priced AMD cards, then mining Zcash on Nvidia GPUs is still very profitable with the EWBF Miner, which is highly optimized to get the maximum performance out of Nvidia’s Cuda cores.
There are a lot of user-submitted crypto mining benchmarks out there. Our methodology is simple. We ran these systems 24×7 for 72 hours and averaged the last 12 hours. That is an important feature because NVIDIA Pascal GPUs will throttle under heat so the first 20 minutes of mining can be much faster than full heat-soak.
