If you are mining at home or by yourself, you should join an existing mining pool. You can choose mining pool to get it started with this process. You need a mining pool to direct your hashing power. You should compare reviews and features of multiple zcash pools in order to get right decision. You should choose the nice hash pool to get profitable mining experience.
Choose and download an appropriate mining program that supports, a: your desired coin (Zcash), b: your GPU (GTX 1080), c: your operating system (Windows 10), and sometimes d: your pool (rarely but does occasionally happen).
Routinely during its operation the miner will also display useful information such as the GPU temperature(s), sol/s per card and total sol/s. The part highlighted in a table fashion is what was enabled by using the –pec flag above and displays a rough efficiency reading you can later use to help fine tune your settings.

Zcash, a privacy centered cryptocurrency, made a mark in the mining scene by use of its ‘Equihash’ Proof of Work mining algorithm. The algorithm distinguishes itself from others with its focus on memory. In short, to mine Zcash, you’ll likely need more memory than what you’d need for other cryptocurrencies. But don’t worry, Zcash’s whopping $350+ USD trading value gives you enough incentive to get started.
Thank you for the tutorial. I am a total noob and this worked just great! I would like to try the new version that incorporates the GPU. I have a nvidia. I downloaded the three folders, but it is completely different and has no batch file. I am at a loss, and their instructions don’t help me. Any advise is appreciated.
For this reason, miners started to work in groups, which are called pools. A pool of miners unites the calculation power of a workforce of small miners in order to obtain a significant mining power (aka hash rate), thus increasing the chance of solving a puzzle and getting the reward for it. Each miner in the pool, gets a “share” of the reward, according to the amount of power he contributed to the pool.
The next step is to download the EWBF Miner. Only download miners from the official threads in BitcoinTalk. If you scroll down, you’ll see a couple of different download options. We’re going to use the Mega download link.
Difficulty this is the measure of how hard it is to generate a new block in the blockchain. The difficulty is designed to adjust every 2,016 blocks (roughly 2 weeks) to balance out the rate at which blocks are created. The difficulty has an absolute minimum of 1, but not such limit exists for the maximum.

Similar to the Claymore miner (which does not currently support Zcash mining under Windows), the EWBF miner contains a 2% developer fee which can be turned off in the batch file. It is noted in the thread that disabling the fee will slightly reduce hashing power, similar to that same behavior with Claymore’s miner.
On October 28, 2016, the launch of Zcash made ZEC coins available for mining. Since Zcash is an open source, decentralized cryptocurrency, we believe that mining for ZEC is an important way to help strengthen and decentralize the Zcash community, contribute to computer science, and win our gratitude and a prize. Mining should be available to everyone, regardless of their access to specialized hardware; anyone should be able to use a computer to “mine” by using open source software, and add more transactions to the Zcash ledger to possibly get Zcash coins in return for their effort. By distributing the ability to perform mining with open source software, the Zcash network can be a more accessible and a truly community-supported cryptocurrency.
PIMP team has created your favorite mining software such as BAMT 2, PiMP, PoolManager, SeedManager, FarmWatcher, and Miner.farm. With world-class support, business dev, and server experts. By miners, for miners.
If you are new in crypto like me and don’t know where to start or what to do, check this article, it helped me find the good exchanges, save a lot in commission fees and showed me how to earn free coins (not many but a little of different coins, who knows, maybe one day they will be worth a lot) :
Keep in mind that many of the pools above support several other cryptocurrencies. Also, considering that the field is very active, there might be other pools that have emerged since the time of writing.
Genoil’s latest ZECMiner is pretty much the fastest public OpenCL miner (Windows binaries only) for Zcash at the moment, though are some stability issues with cards dropping to 0 Sol/s and the miner crashing. The situation improves with each new version, but the miner is still not that good stability wise. The latest Nheqminer supports OpenCL mining, but is slower than ZECMiner, even though stability wise it is better… it is much better for CPU and CUDA mining though. Hopefully soon there will be other faster GPU miners that will offer more stability and features along the improved mining speeds, but for now you will need to do with what is currently available.
–server us1-zcash.flypool.org (the — indicates a parameter with a valid keyword will follow, in this case server. Then a space and the variable for the parameter, in this case the flypool server address.)
Not everyone has access to a computer, however, and not everyone has the time, knowledge or patience to start mining Zcash on their own, especially since there is no Graphic User Interface (GUI) Miner available yet. If you want to mine on your own computer, but need a little push to do so, you’re in the right place. But if you’re looking to profit from Zcash mining with no effort at all, this guide will do the trick.
Today the blockchains of Bitcoin and Ethereum are so heavily loaded, that even participation in a mining pool has become unprofitable, as the amount of resources invested in mining (electricity bills) usually exceeds the return. For this reason, the mining guide we are presenting today is a Zcash mining guide.
The latest NiceHash EQM Zcash 1.0.3a is available for both Windows and Linux and promises up to 320 Sol/s on a stock GTX 1070, and up to 370 Sol/s on overclocked GTX 1070 (you need to use two instances per GPU for maximum performance). We can confirms hashrates that are very close to the ones claimed on the GTX 1070 and of course the miner also does well on other NVidia GPUs. Do note however that it does require SM 5.0 GPU, meaning Maxwell or Pascal as it will not work on older Nvidia architectures…
Cool story, but you do know, you can direct that miner which i linked to any pool you want to have it mine entirely foryourself??? nheqminer.exe -l eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 -u wallet.worker -t threadcountnumber.
Run with ‘-h’ parameter to learn possible commands. By default, miner uses all CPU cores and no CUDA devices. You need to explicitly enable CUDA devices (setting ‘-cd’ parameter). If you wish to mine only with CUDA and no CPU, set ‘-t 0’.
Several months ago, we tried Zcash mining in Docker and even published Docker containers for CPU mining. Although we have CUDA enabled Monero mining containers, they performed well, but not significantly better than CPU mining. When we built a new image with Pascal GPUs we found that NVIDIA GPUs can keep up profitability in-line with using AMD GPUs to mine Zcash or Monero.
Explore the world of mining right on your iOS device. You don’t need fancy expensive equipment to do mining. You already own a device powerful enough to mine. Zcash (ZEC) is unique because unlike Bitcoin which needs specialized ASIC hardware to mine, ZEC can still be mined using your CPU albeit slowly.
