Cryptocurrency markets are volatile and are rife with manipulation. Zcash is a relatively medium sized cryptocurrency currently valued at around $150M USD (at $104 USD per ZEC.) As points of comparison, Monero’s market cap is about $500M at the time of this writing and larger players like Ethereum and Bitcoin are well over $10B USD each. With such a small market cap, Zcash is particularly susceptible to market fluctuations.
Could someone help me out here. I’ve got a R280X that should run around 290 h/s on equihash. I runs great guns on Cryptonite 485 h/s but when I start Claymore Zen64 miner it starts out at 275 h/s and then starts to throttle back to 150 h/s. It drops my clock speed in half and I have no control over setting thru MSI afterburner. It mines along but at half the speed 500mhz.
While not mandatory, it is recommend to install a GPU overclocking utility such as MSI Afterburner to be able to optimize your GPU settings to mine the most efficiently. The installation of MSI Afterburner is straight-forward and should not require a reboot. For the EWBF miner there is nothing to install as we will be simply extracting the programs folder and running the program’s exe. We will however need to modify one of the example batch files included with the miner in order to get started.
Hey Charlie, Well, you should multiply the hashrate and electricity consumption and price tag of each GPU by 6, seeing as the Zodiac contains 6 GPUs. When you identify which exact card the Zodiac is using, you’ll be able to search those details but you’ll still need to account for there being 6 GPUs in the complete unit, so 6 times as much hashrate, cost and power consumption. Equihash is memory-hard but also fast to verify. Proof of Work is established by requiring “… two parameters: N (width in bits) and K (length), which determine the complexity of the underlying problem …”. The complexity of the underlying problem directly influences the memory and time required for the computation. Yeah pretty good, but since the last month has been a little weird, it basically keeps disconecting form the main pool from time to time (for 3 min to 1 hr in a row once every day), aside from that it works perfectly. This is just an opinion for Ethereum and Siacoin pools, i cannot say anything about others coins.
Linux users would probably want to go and try the latest version of the Silentarmy miner that also brought support for Nvidia GPUs and is apparently providing similar performance as the NiceHash release for Windows. Also the Silentarmy miner is doing pretty well on AMD hardware, so do try it as well if you have such mining rigs and are running them on Linux.
There’s no payout. Reach 700, took a screen shot, but no income. If I could give lower than one star I’d do it. It also forces to open up a coinbase account specific for this app even if I already have one.
The average mining rate of the system is 200Mh/s, providing an opportunity for an excellent return at current ETH values, if ETH continues to climb as Bitcoin has it will produce a return many times over.
According to its developers and most users that have tried the Bminer already it is the fastest publicly available Equihash miner for Nvidia GPUs and we can confirm that our initial impressions are showing a better local hashrate compared to the alternatives mentioned. So if you have a Compute Capability 5.0 or newer Nvidia GPU used for mining you might want to give Bminer a go and see if it will work better for you. The miner does come with SSL support as well as Nicehash support, has some interesting extra features, though it is still very easy to use. There is also an API and a web-based interface available for monitoring of your mining rigs that can be quite useful, so go and give it a try and report your results.
And that’s it, you’re ready to mine for Zcash. Simply click the Start.bat file and you should start mining. You can also look up the statistics of your miners on the pool website that you’re using by inputting your public address.
There is a new miner for Nvidia CUDA GPUs available for mining Zcash (ZEC) promising a slightly faster hashrate than the currently fastest implementation of the NiceHash EQM Zcash NVIDIA miner. The most important thing about this new miner is that it is not limited to only mining on NiceHash, so even with the same speed it is still a nice thing to have as it supports Stratum mining on other mining pools besides NiceHash (it does seem to support NiceHash’s Extranonce Subscribe as well). According to the author of the miner it is designed for Nvidia Pascal GPUs, but should work on older Compute 3.0 or higher Nvidia GPUs with at least 1 GB of video memory. Do note that the miner is not open source and there is only a Windows 64-bit binary release available at the moment, it does not seem to be based on other popular codebase and is not being reported as malicious software by antivirus products. You might still want to have something in mind as the user that posted it on Bitcointalk is a new account and not an established miner developer, even though it seems that the miner does work pretty well.

If you have a Linux CUDA compute machine available we highly recommend using nvidia-docker. Installing different CUDA versions for Zcash mining and deep learning frameworks and managing versions can be painful. Using nvidia-docker you do not have to worry about that.
Following the startup information. we can see we are getting block information from the pool and that our graphics card(s) are detected and being assigned new work. After a little bit you shoudl start seeing shares accepted messages indicating your GPU has found a solution, submitted it the the pool and it was accepted.
Now I will say I know how to use Linux and I have built quite a few computers with this OS, but this is just a list of dependencies that if I run all of them I don’t have any problems. Some of them might not be needed, but they won’t hurt. You will want to open your terminal by pressing ‘Ctrl+Alt+T’, and copy and paste these lines into the terminal and press enter. To paste into the terminal you can not just press ‘Ctrl+V’ you need to press ‘Ctrl+Shift+V’. And if for some reason you need to kill a process that is running in your terminal you need to press ‘Ctrl+C’. So here are all the dependencies, this is easily the longest part of the tutorial.
