PIMP team has created your favorite mining software such as BAMT 2, PiMP, PoolManager, SeedManager, FarmWatcher, and Miner.farm. With world-class support, business dev, and server experts. By miners, for miners.

For the nVidia software, we will be configuring the start.bat file. Simply right click to edit in notepad. Once opened, we can set the server address, and your Zcash public address. For this guide we will use the ‘us1-zcash.flypool.org’ server, but choose the server closest to you. Your Start.bat file should now be configured similar to mine as seen below.

For this guide I am going to use the Flypool Zcash mining pool and will modify the flypool.bat file. This file will need to be modified with your wallet address as well as any other extra option you wish to enable. A copy of my modified batch file is shown below:

If you’re at the phase of building a mining rig, check out our 6 GPU mining rig guide. The 3-part tutorial walks through each and every step to get your up and mining with as little hassle as possible.

6. If you notice there are some loose heatsinks when you receive the miner, please inform us by email to sales@asicminermarket.com within 3 days from the date the package is received according to UPS/DHL/FEDEX website.

This article needs to be proofread. There are multiple spelling errors and incorrect word usage, such as “This is because the Claymore miner is faster but only works for CPU.”. Claymore miner is faster for GPU, not CPU.

–pass z  (the actual value of this parameter is usually ignored by pools but oftentimes required by either the pool, mining program, or both. Can be set to something like “X” or “Z” unless your pool requires a specific password).

For the purpose of this guide, we’re going to do a detailed walk-through of setting up and using the very popular Nvidia EWBF Miner. If you have AMD cards, mining Ethereum is usually your most profitable option.

Now me personally I am a little superstittious when it comes to running things and I for some reason like to run my mining programs a super user. This will be a little redundant, but this is just how I do it.

When it comes to mining ZCash (ZEC) or other Equihash-based crypto coins on Nvidia GPUs for most people it is time for the EWBF ZCash CUDA miner, however it seems that the development of that miner has been abandoned a while ago. There have been a few alternatives available that we have covered with dstm’s ZCash Cuda Miner being a very promising successor. The problem with it was that there were a few key features that were missing up until recently, but that is no longer the case with this miner. So if you were reluctant to give it a try, now you might want to reconsider and test it on your Nvidia mining hardware.

We also recorded power consumption during our testing both before mining, then after adding the GPU and having it mine for 60-72 hours. Here is what an average power consumption, per card, was for the final 12 hours of our observation period when the cards were thoroughly heat soaked:

[WARN] [2017-12-04T23:58:59+03:00] Get error: A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied., resetting in 5 seconds

The latest NiceHash EQM Zcash 1.0.3a is available for both Windows and Linux and promises up to 320 Sol/s on a stock GTX 1070, and up to 370 Sol/s on overclocked GTX 1070 (you need to two instances per GPU for maximum performance). We can confirms hashrates that are very close to the ones claimed on the GTX 1070 and of course the miner also does well on other NVidia GPUs. Do note however that it does require SM 5.0 GPU, meaning Maxwell or Pascal as it will not work on older Nvidia architectures…

Ran the same settings on both miners and it’s more like 4-5% more than EWBF. 1080 + 1070 =~1020 Sol/s on Bminer with 60% Power limit and 350 W at the wall. On EWBF it’s ~970 Sol/s for both. The 1080 gets the biggest boost on Bminer about 10% ~574 Sol/s with 60% power limit. I’m mining on Flypool which only shows the effective hash rate, so it will take a while to be accurate but it seems legit.

In either case it continues like this indefinitely, seemingly without getting any real work done. EWBF and dstm miners have been working fine both with and without VPN. I’m using a GTX 1070 on Windows 10. Please advise.

* The nheqminer is available with hardcoded pools from nicehash, suprnova and other mining pools supporting Zcash, so make sure you download the correct version for the pool you are going to be mining at.

In order to mine using this guide, there are two things that you’ll need. The first is a wallet to store your funds. There are currently multiple GUI wallets available and you can compare them here. You can also use this guide to learn how to install one of them on Linux. It is also possible to use an exchange as a wallet but we do not recommend it.

Configure the mining software (usually via batch file) to point to your desired pool and mine to your wallet address, as well as any GPU specific options you may need (or want) to enable (if supported).
