I really like using EthOS over simple mining cause you can actually somewhat use LXDE as an operating system. The problem with EthOS is the limited number of mining programs you can run and the limited amount of packages you can install (instead of apt-get you have to use apt-get-ubuntu and about 90% of packages won’t download or install, and if they do you might have broken EthOS.)
Once you have your batch file configured with your settings, it is time to test it out. Save and close the text editor and then double click on the batch file to run the program. If everything is running correctly you should get a screen similar to the one shown below:

Several months ago, we tried Zcash mining in Docker and even published Docker containers for CPU mining. Although we have CUDA enabled Monero mining containers, they performed well, but not significantly better than CPU mining. When we built a new image with Pascal GPUs we found that GPUs can keep up profitability in-line with using AMD GPUs to mine Zcash or Monero.
Please keep this in mind before you assume that this is profitable and buy hardware. If you were mining in December 2016 assuming a $90-100 price, by January 2017 to early March 2017 your Zcash stash was worth 1/2 to 1/3rd.
How much can be earned depending on hash rate? DO you have to use Ubuntu. I have windows 10 and two GPUs on an Aorus X7 Pro which comes with an Nvidia graphics card. I was trying to mine ETH and I found it to be very taxing on my computer and due to the fact I had Windows 10, there was a bottleneck issue where it mines at a slower hash rate than it would if I used Windows 7. Does the same apply to Zcash? Does this sound familiar?

The installation of MSI Afterburner is straight-forward and should not require a reboot. For the EWBF miner there is nothing to install as we will be simply extracting the programs folder and running the program’s exe. We will however need to modify one of the example batch files included with the miner in order to get started.
Zcash mining is very simple and it is good news for beginners now they need not to download full Zcash block chain. They need not to manage clunky command line miners with manual instructions. If you are a beginner you can go for Zcash mining directly.

At the top we have Hashrates which show your current (2 hour) and long term (24 hour) average hash-rates, your Immature Balance (which is simply the coins not yet fully confirmed on the network), Unpaid Balance which is you confirmed coins waiting to be paid once you reach the payment threshold, number of active workers, and a summary of submitted shares in the form of valid/invalid.

The following explanation is about how to mine Zcash (very profitable currently at the moment as of writing this article) in a pool called miningpoolhub. It is possible to mine many other coins through this pool, but you need to download other mining software to do so.
Earlier today Zcash (ZEC) went live as expected and people are already starting to mine it, some of them probably are still not aware of the slow start with very small block rewards initially. Regardless, with what is available as miners at the moment there are pretty much two places where you would want to go for mining if you still haven’t done so. The first one for CPU mining and CUDA mining is Flypool that uses a modified version of NiceHash’s stratum miner available for download here CPU/CUDA miner for Flypool.
The issue is that ewbf is not the fastest miner availible so it should be compared to dtsm´s miner and the increases are not that significant. But the 1080 boost seems nice, i will test it on my rigs.

Cpu Mining is not profitable when you pay for electricity. When I bought my rig last October I bought some expensive i7 6800k CPU. It was profitable for the first days and had around 38H/S But then GPU Hashrates got better and I turned CPU Miner off.
Similar to the Claymore miner (which does not currently support Zcash mining under Windows), the EWBF miner contains a 2% developer fee which can be turned off in the batch file. It is noted in the thread that disabling the fee will slightly reduce hashing power, similar to that same behavior with Claymore’s miner.
When it comes to mining ZCash (ZEC) or other Equihash-based crypto coins on Nvidia GPUs for most people it is time for the EWBF ZCash CUDA miner, however it seems that the development of that miner has been abandoned a while ago. There have been a few alternatives available that we have covered with dstm’s ZCash Cuda Miner being a very promising successor. The problem with it was that there were a few key features that were missing up until recently, but that is no longer the case with this miner. So if you were reluctant to give it a try, now you might want to reconsider and test it on your Nvidia mining hardware.

Running four Gigabyte Aorus Waterforce Extreme in a normal Case. Runs smooth, almost quiet, a lot of overclocking potential cause of the Watercooling. Getting 3000H/s with slight oc. Good GPU. Highly recommended.
Ran the same settings on both miners and it’s more like 4-5% more than EWBF. 1080 + 1070 =~1020 Sol/s on Bminer with 60% Power limit and 350 W at the wall. On EWBF it’s ~970 Sol/s for both. The 1080 gets the biggest boost on Bminer about 10% ~574 Sol/s with 60% power limit. I’m mining on Flypool which only shows the effective hash rate, so it will take a while to be accurate but it seems legit.
