“investment plans -zcash nvidia miner”

The biggest limitation of the official Zcash software is that it only takes advantage of your CPU to mine. If you have decided to build a dedicated GPU rig for mining the basic software will not be enough, you will need to decide on software that has been optimized to take advantage of your GPU’s.

I will go through start to finish on how to set up a Zcash miner on Ubuntu. This is because if you are mining with an Nvidia Graphics card the windows drivers are a little wonky so you will be limiting your hashrate. For me I have 2 GTX 980ti’s in my gaming computer. When I mine Ethereum on windows I get around 5 Mh/s and when I mine on Ubuntu I get 40 Mh/s. For those of you with gaming computers this can be a nice passive source of income while you aren’t playing games. Also AMD GPUs tend to be better at mining Ethereum, but Nvidia GPUs are better at mining Zcash. So if you have an Nvidia GPU I would suggest to mine Zcash. I do. If you have AMD GPU’s I would suggest looking at this guide here.

The answer? Difficulty. By automatically adjusting the computational difficulty of solving a block, the Zcash blockchain is able to maintain 2.5-minute intervals. You’ll notice that difficulty closely tracks hashrate, and it, too, has seen exponential growth this year:

Below is an example of a batch file that we use on one of our Windows-based mining rigs. Everything is contained in a single line in the .bat file. That single specifies the program to be run (miner) and a few settings that customize the miner’s activity. Finally, and most importantly, one of Zcash wallet addresses is specified so mined Zcash goes to the right place. Here’s the .bat file that we are currently using to start mining. Scroll to see all of it’s contents if necessary.

You will also need a Zcash wallet address either from a Zcash wallet you installed and run on your own PC, or a Zcash “Deposit” address from an exchange. I would recommend learning how to install run your own wallet unless you are only going to mine with a few cards and plan to exchange the coins right away. Several of the large exchanges support Zcash so you can obtain a wallet address from one such as Kraken, Poloniex, or Bittrex to name just a few.

Keep in mind that many of the pools above support several other cryptocurrencies. Also, considering that the field is very active, there might be other pools that have emerged since the time of writing.

Run with ‘-h’ parameter to learn possible commands. By default, miner uses all CPU cores and no CUDA devices. You need to explicitly enable CUDA devices (setting ‘-cd’ parameter). If you wish to mine only with CUDA and no CPU, set ‘-t 0’.

Zcash makes use of the Equihash algorithm – a Proof of Work algorithm that is unique to Zcash for now. It was invented by Alex Biryukov and Dmitry Khovratovich, and makes use of Wagner’s algorithm to provide the PoW that’s required for consensus in the Zcash Blockchain.

It is advisable to put the fan regularly on a certain percentage so that the heat of the card is about 60 degrees (note that during the day the house is warmer and the temperature will rise accordingly).

Zcash, a privacy centered cryptocurrency, made a mark in the mining scene by use of its ‘Equihash’ Proof of Work mining algorithm. The algorithm distinguishes itself from others with its focus on memory. In short, to mine Zcash, you’ll likely need more memory than what you’d need for other cryptocurrencies. But don’t worry, Zcash’s whopping $350+ USD trading value gives you enough incentive to get started.

The blockchain allows the transfer of funds in a decentralized manner, while security and fraud-prevention are carried out by encryption, hence the name crypto, as cryptography is the discipline of encryption. Encrypting and verifying a transaction requires work. Computers which do this kind of work, which is basically solving a mathematical puzzle, get to write the next block in the chain, and are rewarded with coins for it – this is practically the mining operation. The more miners a network has, the stronger it is and the faster and more secure it is.

For the CPU part of this guide, we are going to use Nicehash miner. While this miner works for both CPU and GPU, we are going to get the best performance if we use different miners for CPU and GPU. This is because the Claymore miner is faster but only works for CPU.

3 mothts ago, I mined Zcash, but now profit is very low. Now i mining altcoins, for example Stipend, FOLM, and other. Now i now a lot of other algo and how they mining with howtomine.online for example.

Keep in mind that your profitability will depend mostly on your electricity and internet costs. As such, it’s common to find large mining operations close to power plants, as those ventures tend to strike up B2B rates with the plants themselves to ensure profitability. But don’t worry, it’s likely that your conditions could lead to a reasonable ROI (Return on Investment) as well. Just make sure to calculate the ins and outs of your situation before you make a sizable investment.

Following the startup information. we can see we are getting block information from the pool and that our graphics card(s) are detected and being assigned new work. After a little bit you shoudl start seeing shares accepted messages indicating your GPU has found a solution, submitted it the the pool and it was accepted.

There is a new miner for Nvidia CUDA GPUs available for mining Zcash (ZEC) promising a slightly faster hashrate than the currently fastest implementation of the NiceHash EQM Zcash NVIDIA miner. The most important thing about this new miner is that it is not limited to only mining on NiceHash, so even with the same speed it is still a nice thing to have as it supports Stratum mining on other mining pools besides NiceHash (it does seem to support NiceHash’s Extranonce Subscribe as well). According to the author of the miner it is designed for Nvidia Pascal GPUs, but should work on older Compute 3.0 or higher Nvidia GPUs with at least 1 GB of video memory. Do note that the miner is not open source and there is only a Windows 64-bit binary release available at the moment, it does not seem to be based on other popular codebase and is not being reported as malicious software by antivirus products. You might still want to have something in mind as the user that posted it on Bitcointalk is a new account and not an established miner developer, even though it seems that the miner does work pretty well.

To see all the directories in your current location type ‘ls’. I personally like to change the name of my zcash directory in the home folder to ‘zcash’ just so it’s shorter. You can do this by selecting the directory you want to rename and pressing ‘F2’. Now we will need to change directories to the zcash directory. So type in the terminal

Hash (Rate)   A hash is the output of a hash function and, as it relates to Bitcoin, the Hash Rate is the speed at which a compute is completing an operation in the Bitcoin code. A higher hash rate is better when mining as it increases your opportunity of finding the next block and receiving the reward.

Choose and download an appropriate mining program that supports, a: your desired coin (Zcash), b: your GPU (GTX 1080), c: your operating system (Windows 10), and sometimes d: your pool (rarely but does occasionally happen).

Click on the Advanced tab and click “Change” under Virtual Memory. Uncheck “Automatically manage paging file”. Click the radio button for Custom Size and enter 16384 for the Initial size and Maximum size. Then click OK, Apply, OK.

The EWBF Zcash Cuda Miner is written primarily for Nvidia cards running under Windows, and in its description the developer indicates that it is: “Written for Pascal GPUs but works on cards with at least 1Gb memory, and Compute Capability 2 and higher.”

1. A 90-day warranty is provided starting from the shipping date. To avail this warranty a Repair ticket must be generated by the customer on Asic Miner Market website. Overclocking the miner will void the warranty immediately.

How much can be earned depending on hash rate? DO you have to use Ubuntu. I have windows 10 and two GPUs on an Aorus X7 Pro which comes with an Nvidia graphics card. I was trying to mine ETH and I found it to be very taxing on my computer and due to the fact I had Windows 10, there was a bottleneck issue where it mines at a slower hash rate than it would if I used Windows 7. Does the same apply to Zcash? Does this sound familiar?

Editor’s Note: We ran this analysis on 20 May 2017 when Zcash’s coin ZEC was $104 USD to 1 ZEC. By the early morning Pacific time of 22 May 2017 that had hit $124. As this is about to publish it is currently at $248 USD to 1 ZEC. These markets fluctuate greatly.

Hey Charlie, OK, I expect you’re checking that out on the South African Bitmart.co.za site which sells miners and other crypto gear? It’s their name for 6x 1080 GPUs in a re-assembled rig… So sure, it’ll be good for mining zCash, as that’s its intended purpose after all and the 1080 GPU is a good miner. That said, electricity in SA has become pretty expensive and Bitmart’s prices are fairly steep. Their setup goes for R88k but I see that a single GT 1080 (basic model, not the Ti) goes for about R10k on Evetech: https://www.evetech.co.za/PC-Components/buy-nvidia-geforce-gtx-graphics-cards-47.aspx You should check which… Read more »

You will need to pick a pool that supports Zcash. Some of the more popular pools include Flypool, Nanopool, Nicehash, Suprnova among others. You can get a more detailed up-to-date list by searching Google for “Zcash mining pools”. For this guide I will be using the Flypool Zcash mining pool.

Starting with Genesis Mining who have once more upgraded the Zcash cloud mining hashrate for their existing customers by another 25%. This means that everyone that has already purchased Zcash cloud mining hashrate from them got a nice boost in performance and amount of mined ZEC for free. Furthermore, new customers purchasing Zcash cloud mining hashrate will also get a boost in the hashrate they purchase, however the mining for new contracts purchased at the moment will start on December 1st and not immediately, so pretty much after the slow start for the mining ends.

Ah, I see. Malware seem to be a huge problem on this forum. I took a look for a description to setup a VM quickly. It seems it not that easy. PCI/GPU-Passthrough seems to be very hardware dependent – not that easy to setup. I’ve really no good idea how to provide security for you, without opening the source. Well I guess someone has to try it out and report. Sry, but I have no better ideas for this.

Block   A block is a unit of the code the comprises the bockchain. It is the record of transactions that have occurred since the last block was created and a confirmation to previous transactions. Each block links to the block before it, thus creating a full chain back to the original or “genesis” block.
