Your first step will be to choose a Zcash mining pool. There are plenty to choose from, but we recommend Flypool. The home page or help section of a mining pool site will likely contain instructions on how to mine on its pool using the popular EWBF Miner.
lolMiner-mnx is a new miner for Mining MinexCoin (MNX) or any other coin that uses the Equihash 96/5 algorithm. Do note that the this is not the same algorithm used by ZCash (ZEC), there it is Equihash 200/9, so this miner is not compatible for mining traditional Equihash coins. The lolMiner-mnx is a closed source OpenCL miner being developed from scratch, so it is not based on existing opensource code. Currently it is available as 64-bit binary releases for both Linux and Windows, although it uses OpenCL it should compatible with pretty much any GPU including Intel and Nvidia and not only AMD.
Experimentation with various GPU selections in the calculator will reveal a card with the best price-to-performance-to-power consumption combination (expressed as MH/s per currency unit). Keep in mind that AMD cards outperform Nvidia cards for Ethereum mining purposes the EthashAlgo, but AMD doesn’t beat Nvidia when it comes to the Equihash algorithm using the EWBF Miner.

There are other Equihash coins you can mine, such as bitcoin gold, but this will be covered in another guide. This guide will focus on how to get your equipment mining Zcash. Before you start, always ensure that you have the latest appropriate drivers installed to ensure things go smoothly without crashing. Also note that almost all antivirus or anti-malware will pick this software up as malware.

I’ve a question, I have a 700W Power supply(non modular) , and currently a gtx 1080 and one gtx 1060 3GB. So the miner shows that I’m using about 200W for this gtx, if I connect one more gtx 1060 3GB and I start the miner, it shows errors like it hasn’t enought power, and the last gpu stops running but the fan go 100%.
It also ensures that information of transaction is verified by the miners. It means that this digital currency provides selective transparency and privacy of transaction. The payment of Zcash may be published publicly on public block chain but the transaction amount, recipient, sender may remain private.
That is when I got a warm welcome into Genesis Mining, which is cloud mining. I was blown away and soon realized this is where the future of mining is headed. The average ROI now is 4 months which gives a whooping 20 months of profit.
Buying gear and mining cryptocurrency with it allows you to own an income-producing asset in the gear itself, with aftermarket resale value holding up very well and even appreciating. GPUs purchased for mining in 2015 and 2016 were often sold at a profit in 2017 due to high demand in the market!
I really like using EthOS over simple mining cause you can actually somewhat use LXDE as an operating system. The problem with EthOS is the limited number of mining programs you can run and the limited amount of packages you can install (instead of apt-get you have to use apt-get-ubuntu and about 90% of packages won’t download or install, and if they do you might have broken EthOS.)
Zcash mining is getting pretty popular but solo mining can get pretty lonely. Come test the waters on a Zcash pool! All you have to do is follow this guide! We are going to use the NiceHash open source miner, which allows us to mine for BTC or for ZCash. Since we want to keep our newly mined ZEC, we’re using the second option.
The official Zcash 1.0 User guide at https://github.com/zcash/zcash/wiki/1.0-User-Guide is a great place to start and just get familiar with how Zcash works. The Zcash software provided by Zcash company is a complete package that will let you run a full Node, Mine with your CPU, and also has a built in Wallet for sending and receiving Zcash.
The EWBF CUDA Zcash Miner has a built-in developer fee that is set at 2%, meaning that every 10 minutes the software will switch to a different pool and mine for the developer some shares and then get back to mining for you. The author of the software claims speeds of about 250 H/s for Nvidia GTX 1070 while the NiceHash EQM miner does currently about 220 H/s on the same GPU. Our quick tests showed a hashrate of about 235-240 H/s average (up to 250 H/s) on stock GTX 1070, so still slightly faster, but not as much as you may want it to… then there is the dev fee as well and it seems that we are seeing somewhat more rejects than, especially when switching to mine for the dev fee. So while this may be an interesting alternative for users willing to mine outside of NiceHash, the actual performance that you may get poolside may not be much different than with what is currently the fastest implementation from NiceHash (taking into account the dev fee and the rejected shares)…
As you can see, pricing has some fairly wild swings. As another example, this article was written Saturday, 20 May 2017 when the price was $104 USD to 1 ZEC. On Sunday 21 May 2017 the price hit $123. At the time of this publication (9AM Pacific 22 May 2017) 1 ZEC is now around $248. Prices fluctuate, a lot.
We are proud to offer the most bleeding edge software technology to share with our fellow miners and it is a privilege and honor to receive so much support. Thank you to all of our friends, developers and colleagues that share in making PiMP such a success!
Replace “stratum.zcash.nicehash.com:3357” with your pool’s server. and replace “t1RjQjDbPQ9Syp97DHFyzvgZhcjgLTMwhaq” with your zcash wallet address. Optionally, replace “YourWorkerName”. If you want, you can also replace “x” with your password.
Once your Trezor is setup, then the Trezor web wallet will display a list of addresses under the Receive tab (if I remember the tab’s name correctly, it’s something like “Receive”). Just select any address listed there and plug it into your mining pool / software as your payout address.
Block A block is a unit of the code the comprises the bockchain. It is the record of transactions that have occurred since the last block was created and a confirmation to previous transactions. Each block links to the block before it, thus creating a full chain back to the original or “genesis” block.
